INN At MAPLEMONT FARM

The Inn is a charming rather grand farmhouse. The house was built in 1906 in a Georgian style. The rooms are large and have many windows which allow pleasant views of our hillside pasture, the Connecticut River and the hills of New Hampshire. The Inn has wonderful red birch and oak woodwork. The floors are naturally finished hardwood and pine. The entire first floor and some second floor rooms have tin ceilings. We have only four guest rooms so you are guaranteed personal attention.

At the Maplemont, breakfast always begins with dessert. Sometimes it may be apple pie, or strawberry shortcake. The main course is could be lemon crepes or sourdough pancakes and we offer crisp maple bacon or maple glazed sausages.

Our curved front porch with rocking chairs is the perfect place for sipping morning coffee or afternoon lemonade and watching the river. We are situated on one of the most picturesque areas of the Connecticut River Scenic Byway. The river abounds with wildlife. We have resident bald eagles that often sit across from the Inn watching the river. There are beaver, and otters, deer and an occasional moose. Birders will enjoy the variety of songbirds, water fowl that can be found. We even have loons on the river.

Maplemont Farm has 43 rolling acres. While we do not milk cows, we do have a variety of animals. Our pasture contains our docile Belgian draft horse, Amy, and if you don't mind her company you can take a nice hike and enjoy the views from atop the hill. We have a Bernese Mountain dog, Quincy. Our menagerie includes a black cat named Snowflake.

For the energetic, if you bring a canoe or kayak, you can enjoy paddling the river. We have river access or can direct you to a variety of natural areas to enjoy. We can suggest several routes for road or mountain biking. There is hiking nearby in several state forest areas and in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Please remember we are a pet friendly Inn and so there may often be other animals at the Inn
